Expanded Recycling Service
The recycling service in Perth has been expanded to accommodate more recyclable wastes from residents. The purpose is to reduce the amount of waste that is thrown to landfills. The city council emphasises before that not all items residents put in the yellow lid bin are actually recycled. This can be good news for residents that don’t have the time to go to recycling facilities in their area to dispose of recyclable items. According to Kwik Skips, the yellow lid bin collection in Crawley, West Perth, CBD & West Perth and Canning Vales, Northbridge and East Perth is scheduled every Tuesday.
Special Household Collection
This year’s special collection of household bins will be held in September, the same month that it’s been held during the previous years. Announcement for the exact date will be made in July.
Meanwhile, the city provides free access to two facilities for safe disposal of household hazardous waste. Both Tamala Park and Recycling Centre Balcatta accepts cans of paints, herbicides, pesticides and other similar waste. Visitors can bring a maximum of 20/kg per visit.
As stated on its website, the bin for this special collection must be out before six-thirty a.m. on Monday of the week of your collection. However, it must not be put outside during the weekend prior the scheduled week collection.
Easter Refuse Collection
